BIO of Suzanne Major
Suzanne Major signs her paintings “SuzMajor”. She has been painting for the past 30 years. She has participated in symposiums from 2000 to 2010. After that she concentrated her energies on completing a PhD degree in Anthropology of early childhood education. Her focus is education of young children and education to the environment.
She has worked 12 years as Director of the Early Childhood Studies Program of the University of Montreal. She was a teacher in the program for 19 years. She has retired from her full-time position to work as a consultant, writer and artist. She just completed a contract with the NAAEE (National American Association for Environmental Education) that spanned from 2017 to 2024 writing about education to the environment.
She moved to New Brunswick in July of 2022 and settled in the beautiful village of Doaktown in the Dickison House 1895 were she was able to set up a small studio with her husband Christian Cailliau who also paints with water colours.
BIO
Suzanne Major signe ses tableaux « SuzMajor ». Elle peint ses tableaux à l’huile depuis 30 ans. Elle a participé à des symposiums de 2000 à 2010 puis s’est concentrée sur ses études de doctorat en Anthropologie de l’éducation en petite enfance qu’elle a complété en 2015. Son champ d’intérêt est l’éducation en petite enfance et l’éducation à l’environnement.
Elle a été directrice du programme petite enfance de l’Université de Montréal pendant 12 ans et a enseigné dans ce même programme pendant 19 ans. Elle a pris sa retraite de son poste à temps plein pour travailler comme consultante, auteure et artiste. Elle vient tout juste de compléter un contrat avec la NAAEE (National American Association for Environmental Education) qui s’est exécuté de 2017 à 2024 sur l’éducation à l’environnement.
Elle s’est installée au Nouveau Brunswick en juillet 2022 dans le beau village de Doaktown dans la maison Dickison 1895 où se trouve un petit studio. Elle y exhibe ses œuvres avec celles de son mari Christian Cailliau qui est aquarelliste.
